What is MIM?

Metal Injection Molding (MIM), also known as Powdered Injection Molding (PIM), is a cutting-edge near-net-shape manufacturing technology.

MIM combines the strength and durability of metal with the design flexibility of plastic injection molding. This process is ideal for producing small, complex metal parts with excellent surface finish, tight tolerances, and superior mechanical properties.

The process involves mixing fine metal powders with a polymer binder, injecting the mixture into a mold, removing the binder (debinding), and then sintering the part to achieve full density. This allows for intricate geometries that would be impossible or cost-prohibitive with traditional machining or casting.
